Lila Turner
I am a photographer currently based in Charlotte, NC and originally from New York City. I am working with The Charlotte Observer as their 2025 Visuals Intern.
I am a recent graduate from the University of Michigan, where I majored in Program in the Environment with a concentration in Environmental Storytelling. I love photographing a variety of subjects and got my start through amateur film portraiture and nature photography. Since then, I have delved into concert photography, sports photography, and photojournalism. Before my graduation I was the 2024 Managing Photo Editor at The Michigan Daily. As a student, I sought to understand environmental issues through the lens of others’ experiences and understandings. I aim to include that in my photography as often as possible.
